I think this is a fantastic idea. I’m the kind of person that can never have enough draws. Well I used to be but for the past few years, we’ve been in between houses so I never really bothered unpacking. At the moment, if you walk into my living room (aka my second room), it looks like world war III. There is stuff EVERYWHERE.
C’mon end of 2011, I want to design my dream room already!
This weekend, one of my best friends moved down the road from me. Me, being the geek that I am, calculated it on google map: she’s 950 metres away. To say I’m excited is an understatement. I grew up living 2 minutes walk from my best friends in NZ so I guess this reminds me of home in a way.
But perfect timing as always. We received our building certificate…..six months later! So looks like we will be moving around August- September as planned, that’s if no freak weather moments happen between now and then that puts another delay on our house being built.
Until then, I’m going to make the most of living 2 mins from one of my best friends, 5 mins from uni & 10 mins from work.
Here I go again, thinking about New York City. I just watched the last episode of Gossip Girl and I can’t help but think this show has sparked my desire to go to New York even more. It’s at the top of my list of places to go, I’m just waiting for M & T to set a date for their wedding in California so I can hit both cities in one trip. Because after flying to London, I’m not looking forward to another 24- hour flight!
For now, all I can do is save money & lists of places I want to visit in the U.S.
“Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people” – Eleanor Roosevelt
US diplomat & reformer (1884 – 1962) more quotes can be found here
This quote has stuck with me since I first read it in 2008. Whenever I find myself discussing people, I think of this quote and instantly stop. I don’t believe I have a small mind so why should I act like I do?
Last night was a perfect example of me maximising my mind and discussing ideas with various friends. I went home last night feeling extremely happy, with so many new things to think about. I am surrounded by so many smart people that are constantly expanding my knowledge, it’s a good feeling.
Inspire to have a great mind.
It was a friends birthday last night so we went out to dinner in the city. I got to finally catch up with people I haven’t seen in weeks, some even months because I’ve been so busy with work & study. It’s good to know that even though it’s been a number of weeks since I’ve seen some of them, it hasn’t changed anything. I can just show up and nothing feels different. Those are the types of friendships you should value.
The venue was amazing. We sat inside because it’s getting colder at night here and had the bar all to ourselves. It was one of those places where you pay before your meal which I was VERY thankful about because there is nothing worse than going out to dinner with 20+ people and having to split the bill! The food was really good, I got the salmon dish:
Definitely going back to this place for dinner and when it gets warmer, drinks!
I learnt a kids recipe five years ago that I have never gotten sick of. It’s the most basic recipe but it always leave people asking, “How did you make it?” and “Can I please have a copy?”
We had a morning tea at work yesterday so I decided to bake some Thursday night.
The secret to the crunch? Breakfast cereal!
Once it’s baked, you melt some dark chocolate and pour over the chocolate crunch.
All ready to go!
