Future Me

This evening, I got a lovely surprise in the form of an email. I completely forgot that I wrote myself an email a year ago using the website futureme. I’ve done it for the past 2 years, writing a letter for a year in advance, stating what I had hoped to achieve in that year and what I wanted the future ‘me’ to be like.

Reading over what I wrote this time last year, a lot has changed. I didn’t go to NZ for the summer like I had thought I would but instead, I went on a trip of a lifetime to Europe. I didn’t achieve some of the goals I had wanted for myself but I feel like this year, I’m going to achieve them easily.

Check out futureme.org and send yourself an email, it’s a great way to see patterns in your behaviour and to look back on how much you’ve changed. Quite interesting to see the difference!

  1. I came across a site like this a long time ago (maybe this site?) and remember thinking I should send my future self a letter but I don’t think I ever did. I really should take the time to write myself a letter because I keep thinking about how different I am and my life is now compared to exactly one year ago, and considering the things I’ve got going now I keep wondering where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing on this day in exactly one year. I’m going to try to take the time to write a my future self a letter this weekend.

    • You choose when you want to recurve it, I like to do a yearly thing but you can do 6 months, even 5 years! Now THAT would be intereting! I might do 5 yrs this weekend cause I have some things I want to achieve by my 25th birthday hehe
